Tribute to the Covid Unvaccinated

They suffered immeasurable discrimination, denunciation, betrayal and humiliation, lost their jobs, had no money, let their careers sink. But they kept on going. Never before in humanity has there been such a casting. Now we all know, who are the best people on earth.

My best friend grew up under the Khmer Rouge regime and managed to retain his morals despite living amongst unimaginable crimes. I used to say to him "you know who you are because of your experiences, whereas I don't know who I am because I have never had to know". I also used to wonder, would I be the one hiding Anne Frank in the attic? Or the one reporting her?

I do now know. A lesson I never expected to have to learn, but I did learn it and I am grateful. And I am prepared to do it all again.
