मत्ती 7:15-16 में यीशु ने झूठे भविष्यवक्ताओं से सतर्क रहने की चेतावनी दी है। वह कहते हैं कि ये भविष्यवक्ता भेड़ के वस्त्र पहनकर आते हैं, लेकिन अंदर से वे भयानक भेड़िए होते हैं।

मत्ती 7:15-16 (NIV) में लिखा है:
“झूठे भविष्यवक्ताओं से सावधान रहो। वे भेड़ की खाल में आते हैं, परन्तु अन्दर से वे हिंसक भेड़िये हैं। तुम उनके फलों से उन्हें पहचानोगे। क्या लोग कांटे से अंगूर, या बिछू से अंजीर तोड़ते हैं?”

इस अंश में, यीशु ने इस बात पर जोर दिया है कि एक व्यक्ति के वास्तविक स्वभाव और उसकी सत्यता को उसके कार्यों और उनके परिणामों से समझा जा सकता है। वे आंतरिक रूप से कितने भी आकर्षक और धार्मिक क्यों न लगें, उनके काम और उनके फल ही उनकी सच्चाई को प्रकट करते हैं।
