There's a new big dog on campus at Grand Valley State University.

The Grand Valley Police say a two-year-old Labrador retriever named Scout will assist officers in day-to-day operations as cops patrol the recreation and student housing areas. Officials say Scout will help build relationships on campus. Scout is also capable of detecting explosives which public safety officials say is an asset should a situation arise on campus that may involve explosives.
