05 Ep#509 Helmet of Salvation: Salvation Is Not an "Ask Jesus Into Your Heart" Moment

"Salvation" is not merely a moment of asking Jesus into your heart, at least not according to the Bible. Jesus never said to anyone who asked about salvation, "Ask me into your heart and you will be saved."

But He did say, "Most assuredly, I say to you, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink His blood, you have no life in you. Whoever eats my flesh and drinks My blood has eternal life, and I will raise him up at the last day" (John 6:53-54).

Greek words have motion: I was saved> I am being saved> I will be saved. Salvation begins with baptism, and proceeds along a path of exodus, of healing, of restoration, of transformation. Salvation is only finished at the end, in Him. He is our peace, shalom, rest.
