Don Lemon Interviews Voters On The Street, Doesn't Get The Answers He Was Expecting

Posted • August 18, 2024: I'm not sure what Don Lemon's day job is after getting fired from CNN, but he showed up in Atlantic City to do some "man on the street" interviews about the 2024 presidential election. While he was no doubt expecting to hear a lot of support for Kamala Harris in what is a solidly blue state, he got something completely different. Don Lemon goes to Jersey to ask people, "Trump or Harris." He's in for a surprise. Every single person Lemon spoke to either supported Donald Trump or believed Trump was going to win despite supporting Harris. At one point, the ex-CNN host even argued with a man who said he made more money before Joe Biden took over. You have to love the absolute arrogance it takes to tell a man that he's actually doing better under Joe Biden but that he's just too ill-informed to know it. What's in someone's bank account is what's in someone's bank account.

National statistics are not individual results, but even if they were, wage growth hasn't outpaced inflation for most of Biden's presidency. The segment ends with Lemon sitting at a slot machine complaining that he's got to get out of Atlantic City. That's a pretty big tell that things didn't go as planned. Does any of this mean anything? I don't know. It's a bit like counting yard signs and trying to predict an election. There's no science to asking random people on the street who they are going to vote for. It sure is funny, though, when a left-winger talks to real human beings and gets more than he bargained for. (…)
