One hundred lucky got to try out a state-of-the-art cruise ship

These lucky kids are the envy of their classmates – after they got to try out a state-of-the-art cruise ship which has been dubbed ‘the ultimate playground at sea’.

The 100 children - all aged 10 and from schools, Scout groups and youth organisations in and around Southampton - were let loose on Royal Caribbean International’s Independence of The Sea without a parent in sight.

Having donned GoPro cameras they set about exploring the brand new attractions fitted to the ocean-going behemoth during a £75m refit.
