“What God Requires”
34th In our series the Prophet Micah

I. The Only Standard of Good - Ecclesiastes 5:8; Micah 6:8
* A. He has shown thee O man
* 1. General Revelation - Romans 1:18-21
* 2. Special Revelation - 2 Peter 1:19-21
* B. All claimants to the standard of Good not from God are a fraud 
* 1. This was Satan’s original temptation - Genesis 3:1-5
* 2. No being other than God can determine what is good and what is evil, right and wrong, just and unjust

II. Trio Which God Requires of those who are in fellowship with Him 
* A. To do Justly  
* 1. The true standard of Justice is given in God’s Word and no where else 
* a. If someone claims a standard of justice that is not rooted in God’s Word this is Satan’s lie
* b. “To do” means the disciple is a diligent student of the standard of Justice established in the Bible
* 2. “To do” means actions not just words - Isaiah 10:1-2
* B. To Love Mercy 
* 1. Jesus showed compassion for the helpless and suffering
* 2. On the cross He showed mercy that we might be:
* a. Forgiven of our sins and receive the gift of eternal life - Titus 3:4-7
* b. Show God’s mercy to the world - Matthew 18:21-35
* C. To Walk Humbly with Thy God - James 4:10
* 1. Not comparing ourselves among ourselves - 
2 Corinthians 10:12 
* 2. To have a correct view of ourselves in contrast with the Lord Jesus Christ
