🛑 MEP Diana Holding up an Orthodox Icon of Christ and The Virgin Mary: “"In God We Trust, You Kill Orthodox Romanians!

Disruption was caused in the plenary session of the European Parliament in Strasbourg by a Romanian Christian, anti-vaccine MEP, who shouted slogans during the discussion on Ursula von der Leyen’s candidacy for a new term at the helm of the European Commission.

The Romanian pro-Russian anti-vaccine MEP, who was holding up an Orthodox icon of Christ and the Virgin Mary and kept saying, "In God we trust, You kill Romanians! I have the right to speak," was escorted out of the plenary hall to the applause of the MEPs. She continued to shout in the hallways, saying that European Commission president von der Leyen "killed people" through the Covid-era vaccine mandates.

She also chose to wear a dog muzzle, ostensibly to equate them to medical masks worn during the pandemic.

The President of the European Parliament, Roberta Metsola, requested the removal of Diana Șoșoacă from the chamber, saying, “How many does it take to get her out?”

The Romanian MEP, leader of the SOS party, was eventually expelled from the chamber, though she initially resisted, shouting at the security staff, “Do not touch me! I have the right to speak. I represent the Romanians who voted for me!”
