Schools BAN CELL PHONES: Is This The Right Move??

The latest in school stories and policies are the cell phone bans sweeping across the nation. France implemented restrictions in their schools in 2018, and have been able to note an improvement in academic outcomes, and a positive impact on students overall mental health and wellbeing. As the U.S. tries to play catch up after the devastating effects of school closures in 2020, and the learning loss from being kept out of the classroom for years - the might be one way to help our youth regain focus, and set a better path for the future. However, what does it mean for teachers being able to get away with even more secrecy from parents, when they know their inappropriate conduct won't be recorded, shared or posted anywhere?
