People are freaking out that the sunflowers since the eclipse have stopped following the sun. Heliotropism is the movement of a plant or part of a plant in response to the direction of the sun. It is a form of tropism, which is a biological response to a stimulus. The word heliotropism comes from the Greek words helios, meaning "sun," and tropism, meaning "turning."  

Heliotropism can be exhibited by both leaves and flowers.
