Sausage and Tomatoes

The medieval recipe calls for "apples", but in almost every reference I can find that refers to "apples" in the time period, none mention tomatoes. This may lead you to beleive they didn't eat tomatoes, but the reality is they did, but they also called them apples, so you have try to figure out based on the ingredients which one the chef was referrring to. In this case its actually tomatoes. This dish is fabulously delicious and fairly easy to make, so if you're tired of your usual bratwurst, give this a try with Colin and I in the middle ages.
