On the evening of September 9, 2021, Sergeant Bennett stopped to talk with two motorcyclists who were pulled over to the side of the road. One of the bikes didn't have a license plate, and as he asked for the riders' IDs, one of the men fled. A short foot pursuit followed, but the man escaped through the backyards of the nearby homes. The bike the man had been riding came back as being stolen, and a warrant was issued for the man's arrest.

Several months later, on February 24, 2022, the man was involved in another pursuit. This time, a concerned homeowner had called the police about a suspicious vehicle parked in his cul-de-sac. The man had stolen a white Tahoe and a trailer, and once an officer showed up, the man fled. Due to the icy road conditions, the officer, Officer Stuver, chose not pursue. The man continued down the street at a high rate of speed and eventually slid off the roadway. Before Officer Stuver or other officers could arrive, the man fled into the nearby woods. This is footage of the events that followed.
