The body of Jose Andino, a 67-year-old Sarasota man, was discovered in his submerged vehicle in Phillippi Creek, days after he was reported missing during the flooding caused by Hurricane Debby. Andino was last seen on August 6 when he left for work in Bradenton. His vehicle was found after water levels receded, revealing it to a passerby. Authorities had conducted extensive searches using K-9 units and helicopters, but it wasn't until August 12 that divers recovered his body inside the car. The tragic incident occurred as Andino attempted to navigate flooded roads during the storm​.
