Ever wonder why the Rooster calls in the morning? Aphrodite, the goddess of love, who at the time was married to Hephaestus, had an affair with Ares, the god of war. To be fair, Hephaestus is ugly af. When Aphrodite stepped out, she would visit Ares at his domain when her husband is away. Ares instructed his soldier, Alectryon, to alert him when it was dawn during the sunrise due to Helios, god of the sun is able to see everything under the sun. One day Alectryon fell asleep on the job and failed to alert Ares. Helios witnessed Aphrodite enact her infidelity and notified Hephaestus. Both lovers were caught and ridiculed by all the gods of olympus. As punishment for Alectryon's failure, Ares transformed him into a Rooster which never forgets to crow/call in the morning for eternity.
