Pacific414 Pop Talk Watch Party: The Godfather

Welcome one and all to Pacific414 Pop Talk where tonight as voted on by the Pacific414 community, we will be watching the classic 1972 film that helped Paramount Pictures get out of bankruptcy, The Godfather.

The Godfather is based upon author Mario Puzo's 1969 novel of the same name and tells the story of
Don Vito Corleone, head of a mafia family, decides to hand over his empire to his youngest son, Michael. However, his decision unintentionally puts the lives of his loved ones in grave danger.

The film is directed by Francis Ford Coppola who also shares writing credits for the film with Mario Puzo.

The films star studded cast includes Marlon Brando as Don Vito Corleone with Al Pacino as Michael Corleone, Diane Keaton as Kay Adams, James Caan as Sonny Corleone, Robert Duvall as Tom Hagen, and Abe Vigoda as Sal Tessio.

The Godfather has remained a part of the entertainment landscape for over 52-years and has inspired sequel novels with The Sicilian (1984) The Godfather Returns (2004) The Godfather's Revenge (2008) and The Family Corleone (2012).

There have also been boardgames and video games based upon The Godfather as well.

The Godfather in rated-R and has a runtime of 2 HRS and 55 MINS.
