Deadly wildfires bring devastation to Athens area

Thousands flee their homes as firefighters continue to battle the blaze approaching Athens. One person was reportedly killed amid wildfires that have already left residential areas, buildings and vehicles scorched, as well as fields and forests heavily burnt. According to local media, over 700 firefighters, 199 fire engines, and 35 water-carrying planes are deployed to contain the fire since it started near the town of Varnavas on Sunday.
