Utah’s Double Arch, a popular natural landmark in Glen Canyon National Recreation Area, collapsed on Thursday due to natural erosion.

The National Park Service reported that no one was injured during the event.

Glen Canyon superintendent Michelle Kerns emphasized the importance of protecting natural resources around Lake Powell, noting that such features are vulnerable to both natural and human influences.

The cause of the collapse is not yet confirmed, but changing water levels and erosion are suspected, USA Today has reported.
