Indian Sukhoi Su-30MKI fighter jets are heading to Australia to take part in the major international

exercise Pitch Black 2024. The Indian Air Force (IAF) contingent made a transit stop in Indonesia at Halim Perdanakusuma International Airport in the Indonesian capital Jakarta.

Exercise Pitch Black 24 will be the largest in the 43-year history of the training program. It will involve 20 participating countries, more than 140 aircraft and more than 4,000 personnel.
The IAF's long-range flight is of course supported by Ilyushin Il-78 tanker aircraft.

This year's exercise will be held mainly at RAAF bases Darwin and Tindal in the Northern Territory.
