"Currently, there have been 14 human cases [of bird flu]... the cases have been mild... there was no human-to-human transmission. The Health and Human Services Secretary, Xavier Becerra, has expanded the bird flu to be considered an emergency as well, which gives the US FDA commissioner authority to issue a potential EUA (emergency use authorization) for bird flu products and potential vaccines."
