African Migrant Kills 3 Motorcyclists After Driving His Truck Drunk On The Wrong Side Of The Highway

Posted • August 12, 2024: A trucker who drove on the wrong side of a Nevada highway, killing three motorcyclists, has been sentenced to 4-10 years in prison. LClaude Rafiki, 29, an African immigrant caused a crash on March 23 that killed Owen Hart, 22, Athena Taylor, 21, and Jeremy Gebo, 44. Hart's parents, who were celebrating his 22nd birthday, witnessed their son's death. Rafiki obtained the U.S. citizenship in 2021. He pleaded guilty to three counts of reckless driving resulting in death. Dashcam footage shows Rafiki driving on the wrong side of the road for nearly 30 seconds before crashing into the motorcyclists. He remained on the wrong side for 15 more seconds after dodging another vehicle.
