030 Attack on the USS Liberty - When Israel attacked the US Military | Phil Tourney

Today I'm joined by US Navy Veteran and recipient of broze star medal Philip Tourney - one of the remaining survivors of the *documented* attack on US military personnel by Israel on June 8th 1967 - where 174 Americans were injured and 34 murdered aboard the USS Liberty... out of a total of just under 300 men. I don't say killed in action because as you'll find out - there was no action in the typical sense of the word as it pertains to military conflict, in fact, it is specifically labelled as unexpected and unprovoked in the citation for the aforementioned medal. Lyndon Johnson - then president - chose to take no action against Israel so as not to embarrass them and the men were told to keep their mouths shut with threats of prison, job loss or worse...
