Prophecies of Nuclear War Zechariah 5

Zechariah 14:12-13 (KJV) 12 And this shall be the plague wherewith the LORD will smite all the people that have fought against Jerusalem; Their flesh shall consume away while they stand upon their feet, and their eyes shall consume away in their holes, and their tongue shall consume away in their mouth. 13 And it shall come to pass in that day, [that] a great tumult from the LORD shall be among them; and they shall lay hold every one on the hand of his neighbour, and his hand shall rise up against the hand of his neighbour.

The prophet Joel wrote of a similar event in chapter 2

Joel 2:30-31 (KJV) 30 And I will shew wonders in the heavens and in the earth, blood, and fire, and pillars of smoke. 31 The sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before the great and the terrible day of the LORD come.

These ancient prophecies appear to be describing either a series of nuclear blast or some direct divine wrath from God Himself.

The scriptures of Zechariah 5 actually give a highly detailed description of a judgment of fire that will be sent to earth in the last days.

This may coincide with revelation chapter 8 in which we see that a third part of the trees will burned up and all the green grass was burned up.

The judgment of the great whore of Babylon, also appears to describe a similar or parallel event , and how the kings of the earth committed fornication with her, and how God will consume her with fire, and until she will be found no more the scriptures seem to have a lot to say about this coming judgment.

We have to realize that revelation was written by The Apostle John, a first century man, who was seeing and trying to describe events, in our future that he had no way of comprehending..
When we looks to the scriptures to focus on the events of the last days we notice in many places in the old and new testaments there is language that seems as though it is describing a possible nuclear war.

In Relevation chapter nine verse we read about an event in which a third part of mankind being killed by the plagues of fire and smoking brimstone .
