In 2016 They Tried To Ban Trump From UK, But Why? Did he have Extreamist Views?
FROM 2016 - Near the end of the three-hour debate over barring Donald J. Trump from Britain, James Brokenshire, a minister at the home office, responded for the government.
“Muslims are themselves far too often the target of extremism and hatred,” Mr. Brokenshire said, adding that the government is working to challenge extremist ideology.
He said he disagrees with Mr. Trump and his comments last month that Islamic extremists have all but taken over areas of London and other cities in Europe, creating no-go zones for police and others.
But Mr. Brokenshire, argued that “the best way to defeat nonsense like this is to engage in honest democratic debate.” He added that America, regardless of the rhetoric of any of its presidential candidates, remains “our most important bilateral partner.”
