As a young man, Jared developed a heroin addiction, leading to nearly a decade of chronic homelessness. After a tumultuous period on Skid Row and a subsequent jail sentence, Jared achieved sobriety in 2018. He now works to educate people on public policy and the dangers of drug abuse.
