Theme: The wages of sin is death. No animal sacrifice can ultimately qualify a as a full substitutionary atonement. Jesus alone is the sacrifice for sin that can save us from eternal death.

33rd In our series the Prophet Micah

I. II. Satan’s Attempted Genocide - Mark 13:20
* A. Global genocide of all living things
* 1. Satan’s mode of operations - John 10:10
* 2. The attempt will be made to destroy everything on earth - Revelation 11:18
* B. The 2nd Advent of Jesus Christ will halt the genocide 

II. God’s System of Righteous Sacrifice - Micah 6:6-7 
* A. The sacrifice is an acknowledgment of sin - 1 John 1:9
* 1. All sin is a violation of God’s Law either by commission or omission 
* 2. The sacrifice is an attempt to pay for the sin and restore a right relationship with God
* B. The sacrifice recognizes the need for propitiation  
* 1. God’s wrath is revealed from heaven against all sin - Romans 1:18; 6:23
* 2. To appear in the presence of the Lord requires atonement for sin - someone must pay with their life for the sin
* a. He is the High and Holy One - Isaiah 57:15
* b. Our sins separate us from Him - Isaiah 59:1-2
* c. The death of year old calves - Leviticus 9:2-3
* d. Rivers of oil - Leviticus 7:11-12
* e. First born as a substitute to pay for sin - Genesis 22:12-13
* C. The Redemption instead of Sacrifice of the First born during the Passover - Exodus 13:13
* 1. Jesus was the Firstborn, His sacrifice for sin was perfect 
* 2. His once for all sacrifice paid for all our sins - 1 Peter 3:18
* 3. Christians offer themselves as living sacrifices - Rom 12
