The outbreak of skin diseases has significantly worsened, reaching the level of an epidemic in the Strip, according to officials from the World Health Organization.

The cause? The appalling conditions in overcrowded tents that house hundreds of thousands of people displaced from their homes, along with the collapse of sewage infrastructure, the scarcity of medical supplies, and the general shortage of water—let alone clean water. Hospitals are struggling to address the complications of these diseases.

There are now approximately 200,000 cases of skin diseases in the region, with the most prominent being scabies, lice, and various skin infections.
