Female NYPD is beaten in broad daylight by repeat offender before her partner jumps in

A female NYPD officer has been left with a bloodied face after a repeat offender beat her in broad daylight. Ernst Delma, 41, pounced on the unnamed cop on a Bronx sidewalk at around 7.10pm on Thursday. A spokesman for the department said police attempted to arrest Delma on Randall Avenue when he 'struck an officer in the face'. The officer sustained lacerations to her lips and was removed to an area hospital in stable condition. 

Video filmed by a bystander shows a male NYPD officer restraining Delma on the ground as he appears to struggle to escape. 

Delma was on probation at the time of the assault and has a laundry list of prior arrests, including for assault and burglary.
