There ought not be a dozen different research fields occupied by researchers who find little reason to talk to one another. The world is one. Truth is one. If scientists cannot communicate with one another using the same language, what hope is there for the rest of us? Apologetics assumes there is coherency in the underlying elements of the universe. There are not different substances out of which society and stellar phenomenon are created. Apologetics is not just a discipline that justifies Scripture, it must ultimately justify what we do in life and in our work. Irrespective of what some purists think, science is not advanced by discovering irrelevant ideas and unusable theories. Something must make things relevant; some thread has to hold it all together. If our ideas are not coherent then our very reality is a contradiction and that is not scientifically tenable.
