Having a healthy lifestyle isn’t the only way to combat anxiety, here are 4 other techniques that can help. 1. Utilize a planner or calendar. Using a planner can help with anxiety as being able to visualize your life will help you feel less overwhelmed by it. 2. Learn to identify your negative patterns. Write down your negative thoughts in a journal as this will identify your negative thought patterns. Knowing these patterns will allow you to replace the anxious thoughts with logical ones. 3. Use the 5-4-3-2-1 rule. This rule will bring you back to the present moment and out of an anxious spiral. Look around and name 5 things you can see, 4 you can feel, 3 you can hear, 2 you can smell, and 1 you can taste. 4. Fact-check your anxious thoughts. To fact-check your thoughts, simply repeat the thought and then ask yourself if it is realistic and logical. Questioning your anxiety gives it less power over you and will help you calm down during a spiral.
