Major General Andrew Jackson Signed The Treaty Of Fort Jackson, A Pivotal Document That Concluded The Creek War And Redrew The Territorial Lines Of The Southeastern United States.

This Treaty Forced The Creek Nation To Cede Approximately 23 Million Acres Of Land, Which Encompassed More Than Half Of Present-Day Alabama And Parts Of Southern Georgia, To The United States Government.

The Signing Took Place At Fort Jackson, Located Near Wetumpka, Alabama, Following Jackson's Decisive Victory At The Battle Of Horseshoe Bend In March 1814.

The Treaty Not Only Marked The End Of One Of The Bloodiest Conflicts Between Native Americans And American Settlers But Also Set A Precedent For Future Treaties That Would Further Diminish Native American Lands In The Region.
