The governor of Virginia, Glenn Youngkin is ordering all votes in the 2024 presidential election to be cast by paper ballot.
It’s part of an executive order he issued this week that codifies election security protocols established during his tenure, for all future elections,
"We are codifying all of the changes we have made to maintaining the voter rolls, all the changes that we have made to training and reinforcing our chain of custody and how votes are counted. This gives us a chance to put all of that in one place and codify it. Our elections are fair, they're secure. We do not have voting machines, we have counting machines. We have 100% paper ballots, drop boxes are monitored 24 by seven and are secured. There aren't mass mailings of ballots. On top of that the chain of custody is really clear and has been very well trained into our election officials."
