The Heart E3 - A Pure Heart

On today's episode, Jana and Reata dive deep into a discussion about a pure heart. They open with examining the definition of "pure" and contemplate seeing God in everyday life. Reata shares a story illustrating how good attracts good and how evil finds evil. Further demonstrating how what is in your heart will ultimately impact how you see and interact with the world around you. Next, they elaborate on the works/desires of the flesh. Jana shares some of the temptations she faced as a young adult and how learning the Gospel and God's word helps her to overcome them. She elaborates on the importance of taking those thoughts captive with 2 Corinthians 10:5.

Jana also reveals her struggles with prayer and raises the topic of "living in the light"; meaning to live an open and honest life without hidden secrets/agendas. Reata shares how this philosophy was vital in the development and success of her recent relationship, and how after 60+ years she was finally able to be herself.

Lastly, they delve into the importance of deciphering the origins of your feelings and not believing feelings as fact. Reata shares her personal experience with suicidal thoughts; touching on distinguishing the difference between God's voice and the enemy's condemning, accusing voice.
