The instant a person offers themself up on the altar of leadership, they become the target of all sorts of assaults and attacks. Attacks will come from the opponent, from the competition, from the naysayers and even the friendly fire attacks from within the team they lead. In order to survive the onslaught a leader must be tough skinned, sure footed, emotionally grounded and morally founded. This set of characteristics alone will cause a leader to stand out distinctly from the crowd around them. These attributes will get a leader out of the people pile and simultaneously make them a target. Be careful what you strive for.”
