In this video, we explore the heartbreaking case of Baby Edward "Teddy" Eckersley. Alexandra Eckersley, was a 27-year-old woman who was homeless and living in a tent in Manchester, New Hampshire. Alexandra, who has struggled with mental health and developmental issues since childhood, was also battling substance abuse and was not receiving treatment for her conditions. On a freezing Christmas night in 2022, Alexandra went into labor unexpectedly. She experienced severe stomach pains and was unaware she was pregnant until she gave birth. After the baby was born, Alexandra believed it was dead and left it in the tent while she and another individual walked to seek help. When police arrived, she led them in every direction, other than to the newborn because she was worried about getting into trouble. The baby was later found alive but suffering from hypothermia and respiratory distress due to the freezing temperatures. Alexandra faces charges including assault, reckless conduct, falsifying evidence, and endangering the welfare of a child. She has pleaded not guilty, claiming she did not realize she was pregnant and was in a heightened emotional state due to her bipolar disorder. This case highlights the complex interplay of mental health, substance abuse, and homelessness, as well as the tragic consequences that can arise from such challenging circumstances. Thank God the baby survived!!
