Police Chief Responds to Six Men Shot Near St. James Park in Bronx

Earlier this evening, six men were shot near St. James Park in Fordham, Bronx. According to NYPD officials, several people were gathered underneath a scaffolding when two males on scooters approached, parked in the park, and fired nine shots at the group. The victims, five in their 20s and one in his early 30s, were struck in different parts of their bodies. All are expected to survive. Upon arrival, police found two victims, while two others flagged down EMS and two more walked into separate hospitals. The motives behind the shooting are still unknown, and it is not yet clear if the incident was gang-related. The investigation is ongoing.
