Almost six years in the making, EXTORTION 17: “You Can’t Burn the Truth” presents a compelling story of a father’s relentless quest for answers following the tragic loss of his son, Michael Strange, in Afghanistan.

Michael Strange was a top cryptographer for SEAL Team Six. On August 6, 2011, he was aboard Extortion 17, which experienced the greatest single loss of American personnel in the Afghan War. The shootdown of Extortion 17 resulted in the deaths of 31 Heroes, including 17 U.S. Navy SEALs—15 of whom were members of SEAL Team Six’s Gold Squadron.

This film delves into the profound struggle of a father as he navigates grief, government red tape, and layers of secrecy in pursuit of the truth. It’s a story of determination and resilience in honoring the memory of a fallen hero and uncovering the facts surrounding the tragedy.
