Protect Kids Colorado - Press Conference - 8/5/24

Protect Kids CO is a completely grassroots, volunteer-driven movement, uniting concerned citizens from every corner of the state, spanning the political spectrum and representing many cultural backgrounds. We are parents, grandparents, doctors, teachers, engineers, business owners, and concerned citizens - we are your friends & neighbors. Despite numerous unprecedented obstacles, including Supreme Court challenges that cut our signature collection period from 180 days to under 100 days, Coloradans have overwhelmingly supported our initiatives. Organizations trying to undermine parent involvement have pushed policies and laws, such as HB24-1039, that allow schools to make decisions about a child's gender identity without parent notification. These groups betray families, leaving parents feeling hopeless and excluded. We are committed to upholding biological truth, protecting children, and safeguarding girls’ spaces. We stand firm in defending parents’ inalienable right to care for their children. Together, we are striving to make Colorado a safer place to live for families and children. Despite falling short of the required signatures to make the ballot, we consider this effort a major success. We are so grateful to our thousands of volunteers. This movement brought people together and started conversations. Through the thousands of discussions our volunteers engaged in, it couldn’t be clearer that these measures are something Coloradans believe in. As our support around the state continues to grow, we are proud to announce that Protect Kids Colorado is here to stay. We look forward to continuing to educate Coloradans on these important issues, supporting families who’ve been affected by the existing laws, bringing forth common-sense public policy that Coloradans desire, and bringing people together!
