I wrote this song with the theme of Hansel and Gretel and alcoholism. I once knew a man who essentially liquified his internals through alcoholism. I sought to capture those feelings of trying to find a way to peace, a way to what feels like home. The empty bottles are the bread crumbs, the oven has been replaced with a cauldron, and the alcohol itself is the witch's brew. The bottles didn’t lead back home, they lead back to the witch and in the end, the alcoholic becomes more brew.
