Wat Tham Khiritham วัดถ้ำคีรีธรรม is a country temple about 20 minutes outside of Kanchanaburi. It gets very busy with locals that want to make a trek through the jungle to a huge cave. The cave is about a 15 minute hike across rough terrain to the entrance. Inside the cave worshippers go inside to make offerings to the grandmother spirit inside that will grant them a wish. The cave is closed for 3 months during rainy season but when it’s open it’s best to come early in the morning.

The main part of the temple is still under construction. The halls are being built but you can go inside them and see the images. In addition to the prayer halls there are many shrines for people to make merit.

There are shops for souvenirs and a petting zoo on the temple grounds for the kids to see. Often there are also elephants for people to feed and take pictures with.

It’s a small country temple and fun to hike through the jungle to see the cave when it’s open. It can be combined with a visit to other sites in the area.
