Polio : The Paralysis Pandemic

Short Documentary explaining the growth of Polio as a Paralysis Pandemic since the 1800's which isn't completely eradicated till now but still lives inside our body as an attenuated virus, providing us with immunity. This video explains how countries like London, Norway, Sweden and America were the first visible victims of Polio, taking millions of lives until the race for the Vaccine was completed by Dr. Jonas Salk and Albert Sabin with the invention of their Inactivated Virus Vaccine and Oral Polio Vaccine which are still being used till now.

The video also delves into the diagnosis moments of paralytic President Franklin Delano Roosevelt who was the Governor of New York for 2 years before becoming 32nd President of the United States of America. Polio is nearly eradicated today with only Type 1 polio present in Pakistan and Afghanistan but efforts are being made to completely immunize these countries.
