The first set of cadets of the Saratov Higher Artillery Command School began an intensive military training course at the Shirokiy Karamysh training ground.

Future officers live in a specially organized tent camp, where they are given daily classes in tactical, physical, fire, medical, topographic training and radiation, chemical and biological protection.

They are trained in handling weapons, orientation on the ground, demining areas of the terrain, organizing internal service in a field camp, firing from standard small arms, throwing training grenades, forcing natural obstacles and sheltering personnel in fortifications. In practice, they practice the actions of a company and a platoon in the offensive and defensive.

During practical actions, shooting is carried out from Kalashnikov AK-12 assault rifles, Pecheneg machine guns, SVD sniper rifles and RPG-7V hand-held anti-tank grenade launchers. The cadets also practice the standards for putting on a PMK-2 gas mask and a general-purpose protective kit.

Upon completion of the training course, the cadets will be ready for further training at the school and performing tasks as intended.

The opening ceremony of the Saratov Higher Artillery Command School and the presentation of the battle flag will take place on August 30, 2024.
