Self-talk, or talking to yourself, is a common practice among many people. Despite being often stigmatized and considered to be crazy, self talk is actually more common than one might think, and more importantly, it’s a great way to keep your mental health sound.
Now, I’ve been talking to myself for as long as I can remember. Looking back, I likely might not have said my first word when I’d already been talking to myself, if only inside my own mind. Over the years, I’ve been overheard by random strangers more times than I can count, and had my share of awkward moments. Despite all of that, to this day, I remain a steadfast believer in self talk, and the power it has to keep us mentally healthy.
