Transfăgărășan, a marvel of engineering nestled in Romania’s Carpathian Mountains, is a breathtaking journey showcasing nature's splendor. This awe-inspiring road, winding through steep mountains and dense forests, offers an unforgettable adventure for every traveler.

Just a couple of hours' drive from Bucharest, near picturesque towns like Sibiu and Curtea de Argeș, the Transfăgărășan twists and turns through some of Romania’s most stunning landscapes. Along the way, discover panoramic views, cascading waterfalls, and the lush beauty of the Făgăraș Mountains.

At the heart of this scenic road lies Bâlea Lake, a glacial gem surrounded by rugged peaks and alpine meadows. Whether visiting in summer for hiking or in winter for snow-covered vistas, Bâlea Lake offers a serene escape into nature’s tranquility.

An added thrill to this route is the chance to encounter Romania’s wildlife, particularly its bears. Throughout our journey, we spotted 12 bears, adding an exciting touch to the experience. Additionally, a flock of sheep once blocked our path, creating a charming and unique rural moment.
