Today, we must round up most of the remaining roosters from this Spring's hatchlings. Rocky won the contest last year to become the flock's protector. The new roosters we introduced this spring are fully grown, crowing, and mounting the hens. This is when trouble begins between roosters. Rocky is calm, attentive, and watchful. He keeps the flock stable, and very importantly, he is not aggressive toward people. But, he is a little overworked because of the flock size, so we are trying to choose him a second-in-command.
