UK plunged into chaos and riots over Southport stabbings

Towns and cities across the UK have seen a wave of protests and riots following the murder of three children by a Rwandan man in the town of Southport. Parents and concerned Brits across the country took part in protests and marches, demanding an end to mass uncontrolled immigration, and an end to what they see as two-tier policing, where ethnic minorities are given preferential treatment.

While the protests started out as peaceful, the Labour government appeared to escalate the situation by branding the protesting parents ‘far right thugs,’ while pledging £29 million (around $37 million) to ‘protect mosques,’ mere days after abolishing winter fuel payments for the elderly after claiming there was no money left. This led to further protests which descended into riots, as police stations, cars, shops and migrant hotels were targeted. Heavily Muslim areas were patrolled by groups calling themselves the ‘Muslim Defense League,’ who carried weapons and appeared to encounter little resistance from police.

More protests are planned for the coming weeks, amid fears that Prime Minister Keir Starmer could bring in lockdowns and potentially even martial law to prevent groups assembling.
