Ingredients:

2 tablespoons butter
3 tablespoons all-purpose flour
800 ml (3.4 cups) milk
2 tablespoons cornstarch
100 grams erythritol
3 bananas, sliced
5 dates, pitted and soaked in hot water until soft, then chopped
70 grams (about 1/2 cup) walnuts, chopped

Instructions:

Prepare the Roux:

In a medium saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat.
Add the flour and stir continuously until the mixture turns golden brown. This will take about 3-4 minutes.

Add the Milk:

Slowly add the milk to the saucepan with the roux, stirring continuously to avoid lumps.
Add the Cornstarch and mix.
Add the Erythritol.

Cook the Mixture:
Turn the heat to medium and cook the mixture, stirring constantly, until it thickens and comes to a boil. This will take about 10-15 minutes.

Once thickened, remove the pan from heat.

Prepare the Fruits and Nuts:

While the milk mixture is cooking, slice the bananas.
Pit the dates, soak them in hot water until soft, and then chop them.
Chop the walnuts into small pieces.

Assemble the Dessert:
Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F).
In a baking tray, evenly spread the sliced bananas, chopped dates, and walnuts.
Pour the thickened milk mixture over the fruit and nuts, spreading it evenly.

Bake:
Place the tray in the preheated oven and bake for 10 minutes, or until the top is slightly golden.

Serve:
Let the Milk Helva cool slightly before serving. It can be enjoyed warm, at room temperature, or cold.
To enjoy it cold, let it cool to room temperature first, then place it in the fridge for at least 1-2 hours before serving.
