Senator Tom Cotton (R-AR) criticized media outlets for not scrutinizing Vice President Kamala Harris as they would a typical presidential candidate since she became the Democratic nominee two weeks ago.

Cotton noted on CBS News’s Face the Nation that Harris has avoided sit-down interviews and press questions, yet faced little criticism for her lack of availability.

He highlighted that Harris will eventually need to address her policy positions under media questioning, which he believes will benefit former President Donald Trump.

Cotton emphasized the importance of media holding Harris to the same standards as previous nominees, citing the thorough questioning faced by Donald Trump in 2016 and Barack Obama in 2008, the Washington Examiner has reported.
