In May 1990 Bašul Parik and his 76 year old mother, Cora traveled back to Prague. At the age of 3, Bašul's father Arno led the family's escape from Prague when the Russians invaded Czechoslovakia in 1946. This home video was his first trip back to see family that had been left behind. It documents some of the sights and views of Czech life just after the Velvet Revolution and before it became the tourist magnet that it is today.

Filmed on a cutting edge SD Sony Hi8 consumer video camera some video distortion is evident. It has been stabilized and upscaled to HD resolution.
