In combination of FAM, period tracking apps are beneficial. Use the app to plug in all info about your period, basal temperature, and other body signs to predict periods and ovulation. The app I’ve used since 2010 is My Days X: but there are several others.

I personally believe birth control is detrimental to overall health, but you’ll have to decide if the benefit of avoiding pregnancy is worth the potential health risks.

Talking to your partner, even if they’re not a long term partner, about your cycle is also important.
