Vigilant Bible - Genesis 3:9-15
In the hebrew text, it compares the serpent to the size of a large cattle like creature. Giving the theory of the serpent being a dinosaur more validity. Two hebrew dictionaries were at odds with each other in one of the verses. Ultimately, it looks like the dictionary that is inaccurate has a specific faith attached to it that seemingly had an agenda. It sounds like the offspring of the “woman” did not crush the serpents head but rather “shook” the creature.
I’m pretty upset about the poor translations of the KJV and the NIV and you should be too. That’s why I’m translating the bible myself with as little bias as possible by using the “non-literal” or “free translation” method. We are going straight from the Masoretic text to English.

If you need help finding a good translation of the bible and the VB hasn’t been fully translated yet, then consider a Septuagint. Most orthodox Christians and Catholics use a Septuagint rather than an NIV or a KJV. Always look at genesis chapter 4:9… most bible translations are inaccurate and read “am I my brother’s keeper?”. The verse translated properly actually means “I’m not my brother’s guardian, am I?” The term used for guardian is “keep” as in a “castle keep”… it means “to guard”. “Keeper” alludes to some form of slave ownership, with which, is inaccurate.
